Pitch Critique: 123BabyBox is a great example of passion
It may not be a revolutionary idea, but this founder knows how to say it like she means it
Business Rationale (5pts): 2
Subscription boxes are a thing, but WHY does this one exist? There are plenty of other baby focused subscription boxes. In the moment, the brand might have some cache, but its not clear why this needs to exist.
Market Clarity (5pts): 4
Seems pretty clear where they are going for customers. It would be good to maybe identify the TYPE of mom that might benefit most (not all moms are the same.
Financial Alignment (5 pts): 2
Lost me here. There were lots of numbers, but was positioned like a SaaS company. It would be better to own the type of company you are, and leave some of the TAM/SAM stuff to the people raising $100MM. This is a small business, and unit fundamentals are VERY important.
Believability (5pts): 3
The business feels like a brand play, but there was never a mention WHY they can do it. Do they have specific knowledge in children or are they parents? Some personal story would help.
Pitch Passion (5 pts): 5
Its CLEAR the founder has the passion to get this business across the line. That can go a long way. To investors this projects confidence. Be carefully mimicking the style when talking to customers as it can come off as aggressive and create some loss of trust.
